Cloud & Hosting

Cloud environments designed, migrated and managed — Azure, AWS, Vultr or our own platform — without the bill creep that usually follows.

Overview

Cloud done properly is a genuine improvement. Cloud done badly is an expensive mess of forgotten resources, oversized instances and a bill that climbs every month with nobody sure why. We design environments to be right-sized from the start, migrate you there without the drama, and manage them ongoing so they stay that way. On AWS we go further: automated resource scheduling powers compute down when it isn't being used, which in most cases takes up to half off that bill.

Not every workload needs a hyperscaler. When you don't need the full machinery of AWS or Azure, we reach for Vultr — simpler to run and priced predictably, so the bill doesn't surprise you. And when data needs to stay onshore, we run Quic — a fully local, non-US hosting option. The point is to fit the platform to the job, not to default everyone onto the biggest one.

We work across Azure, AWS and Vultr as well as Electrify, our own hosting platform. If you're already in the cloud and it's grown unruly, we can audit what's running and make sense of it. If you're still on-prem, we'll tell you honestly whether moving makes sense — and which bits to move first if it does.

What's included
  • Environment design and architecture — Azure, AWS, Vultr or Electrify — right-sized from the start
  • Vultr for workloads that don't need a hyperscaler — simpler to run, predictable pricing, no bill surprises
  • Quic — a fully local, non-US hosting option for data that needs to stay onshore
  • Cloudflare for DNS, CDN and edge microservices — fast, resilient, and one less box to babysit
  • Migrations planned around your schedule, so the move doesn't cost you a working week
  • Ongoing management: patching, monitoring, cost review and resource optimisation
  • Automated resource scheduling on AWS — idle and non-production compute powered down out of hours, cutting those bills by up to half in most cases
  • Cost audits for existing cloud environments — there's almost always waste to recover
  • Hybrid and on-prem included; we work with the infrastructure you have, not just what's in the cloud
  • Clear documentation of what's running and why, so the environment isn't a mystery

Common questions

Quick questions

Which cloud platform should we use — Azure or AWS?

It depends on your workloads and what you already run. Azure is often the natural fit for Microsoft-heavy businesses; AWS has strengths for certain application workloads. We'll give you a straight answer based on your setup, not a preference for one vendor's certification.

Do we have to be on AWS or Azure?

No. They're powerful, but they're not always the right tool — and you pay for that power whether you use it or not. When a workload doesn't need a hyperscaler, we'll often put it on Vultr instead: simpler to manage and priced predictably. And if your data needs to stay onshore, we run Quic, a fully local non-US option. We pick the platform that fits the job.

Our cloud bill has been creeping up and we don't know why. Can you help?

Yes, and it's common. Cloud costs drift without active management. We can audit what's running, identify the waste and either clean it up or hand you a clear list of what to cut.

Can you actually bring our AWS bill down?

Often, and by a lot. Our automated resource scheduling powers down compute that's sitting idle out of hours — dev, test and other non-production workloads that don't need to run overnight or at weekends. In most cases that takes up to half off the compute bill, and once it's set up it looks after itself.

We're still on-prem. Do we have to move to the cloud?

No. We work with what you've got. If there's a genuine case to move certain workloads, we'll make it — but we're not going to tell you cloud is the answer before we've looked at the question.
